EDGERTON GIFTERY

Return & Refund Policy

Effective Date: May 14th, 2026

Edgerton Giftery has a thirty (30) day return policy. This means customers have thirty (30) days after receiving an online order, or thirty (30) days after an in-store purchase, to request an eligible return.

Because Edgerton Giftery offers handmade goods, Michigan-made products, vendor-supplied merchandise, seasonal items, specialty gifts, and limited-quantity products, all returns are subject to review and approval.

To be eligible for a return, the item must be in the same condition it was received, unused, unopened, undamaged, with tags if applicable, and in its original packaging. Proof of purchase is required for all returns.

To start a return, customers may contact Edgerton Giftery at edgertongiftery@gmail.com. Returns must be approved before any item is sent back. Items sent back without first requesting a return may not be accepted.

Damages and Issues

Customers should inspect all orders upon receipt and contact Edgerton Giftery promptly if an item is defective, damaged, incorrect, or incomplete.

Damage or issue claims should be reported within three (3) business days of delivery or purchase whenever possible so Edgerton Giftery can evaluate the issue and work toward an appropriate resolution.

To help review the issue, Edgerton Giftery may request the order number or receipt, photographs of the item, photographs of the packaging, photographs of the shipping label, and a brief description of the issue.

Customers should not discard damaged items or packaging until the issue has been reviewed, as the shipping carrier, vendor, or insurance provider may require photographs or return of the item.


Exceptions and Non-Returnable Items

Certain types of items cannot be returned due to product safety, hygiene concerns, vendor agreements, seasonal availability, or the nature of the merchandise.

Non-returnable items include food products, candy, snacks, beverages, consumables, perishable goods, bath and body products, soaps, lotions, oils, scrubs, skincare items, fragrance products, personal care items, earrings and jewelry intended for pierced use, custom products, special orders, personalized items, seasonal merchandise, holiday items, clearance items, opened items, used items, altered items, vintage items, one-of-a-kind items, limited-quantity items, gift cards, and any item marked “Final Sale” at the time of purchase.

Edgerton Giftery also does not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, gases, or any product that cannot be safely returned or resold.

Handmade and Vendor-Supplied Products

Many products sold by Edgerton Giftery are handmade, small-batch, locally made, vendor-supplied, seasonal, limited quantity, or one-of-a-kind.

Slight variations in color, size, shape, scent, texture, finish, packaging, or appearance may occur and are not automatically considered defects. Natural variations, handmade differences, vendor packaging updates, and differences caused by screen display settings do not automatically qualify an item for return or refund.

Edgerton Giftery reserves the right to determine whether an item qualifies as damaged, defective, incorrect, or eligible for return.


Exchanges

Because many items sold by Edgerton Giftery are handmade, vendor-supplied, seasonal, or limited quantity, exact exchanges may not always be available.

The fastest way to receive a different item is to request a return for the original item if it qualifies under this policy. Once the return is accepted, the customer may place a separate order for the new item.

Exchanges, replacements, or store credit may be offered at Edgerton Giftery’s discretion depending on product availability and the circumstances of the return.


Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to an error by Edgerton Giftery, a damaged item, a defective item, or an incorrect item sent.

Returned items must be packaged securely. Edgerton Giftery is not responsible for items that are lost, damaged, or delayed during return shipping.

Customers are encouraged to use a trackable shipping method for approved returns.


Local Pickup Orders

Local pickup orders should be inspected at the time of pickup whenever possible.

If there is an issue with a local pickup order, the customer should contact Edgerton Giftery promptly. Final sale restrictions still apply to local pickup purchases.


European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

Notwithstanding the above, if merchandise is shipped into the European Union, customers may have the right to cancel or return an order within fourteen (14) days, for any reason and without justification.

As stated above, the item must be in the same condition it was received, unused, unopened, undamaged, with tags if applicable, and in its original packaging. Proof of purchase is required.


Refunds

Edgerton Giftery will notify the customer once a return has been received and inspected and will confirm whether the refund has been approved.

If approved, the refund will generally be issued to the original payment method within ten (10) business days. Customers should allow additional time for their bank, credit card company, payment processor, or third-party platform to process and post the refund.

Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to an error by Edgerton Giftery, a damaged item, a defective item, or an incorrect item sent.

If more than fifteen (15) business days have passed since a refund was approved, customers may contact Edgerton Giftery at edgertongiftery@gmail.com.


Order Cancellations

Orders may be canceled only if the order has not yet been processed, packed, fulfilled, shipped, customized, or placed into production.

Custom orders, special orders, vendor-direct orders, and personalized items may not be eligible for cancellation once production or fulfillment has begun.

Edgerton Giftery reserves the right to cancel any order due to inventory errors, pricing errors, suspected fraud, product unavailability, shipping restrictions, or other business reasons.


Policy Updates

Edgerton Giftery reserves the right to update, modify, or replace this Return & Refund Policy at any time.

The policy in effect at the time of purchase will generally apply to that purchase unless otherwise required by law.


Internal Notes Before Publishing

Confirm whether the return address should be the store address or a separate return address. Confirm whether Edgerton Giftery wants to provide prepaid return labels or require customer-paid return shipping for normal returns. Confirm whether sale items and seasonal items should always be final sale. Confirm whether in-store purchases follow the exact same 14-day rule as online purchases.

This policy should be reviewed by a Michigan business attorney before being used as a final legal policy.
